Flood Bros. Disposal presents The Skinny & Houli Show and this week we welcome Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke to the show to talk about the upcoming 50th anniversary of Special Olympics, which she founded in 1968. Anne tells some great stories of how it all got started, including a great anecdote about Mayor Richard J. Daley calling Olympics chairman Avery Brundage on the phone to get him to back off his injunction threat for using “Olympics” in their advertising etc. Great stuff! Tons of great events planned for next week July 17-21st at Soldier Field and big concert at Northerly Island to celebrate the success of Special Olympics all over the world. More info at https://www.specialolympics.org/50th.aspx

Then our old pal, comedian Pat Chase stops by to plug his upcoming gig at The Improv in Schaumburg. We finish the show listening to the lovely All-Ireland fiddler, singer, and dancer Eimear Arkins, our musical guest star on The Skinny & Houli 2018 Craic Tour of Ireland in October, as she sings “The Darling Girl From Clare”. Call Mary Weibler for more info on the trip at 800-624-8338 and book your seats NOW!
