Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny and Houli show and this week the crowd at Lizzie’s is buzzing! The guys jump right in on telling us about all the important events coming up in Chicago in the next few weeks. If you haven’t already, make sure you get your tickets for their Annual trip to Ireland in October. It’s sure to be a trip of a lifetime! Our first guest is a Galway man, Jerry Kealy, who is a GAA coach with The Windy City Gaels. Jerry fills us in on the Continental Youth National Championships that are being held in Chicago this year at Gaelic Park in July. Jerry also gives us a history lesson in why the GAA was so important during the Easter Uprising in 1916.
Our second guest is President of Chicago Irish Immigrant Support, Cyril Regan, who has come to tell us about the suicide awareness 5k walk ‘Darkness into Light‘ on May 7th. There are some other events coming up that Cyril also tells us about. As always, Skinny and Houli inform us of the latest obituaries. Our newest monthly segment, ‘Today in 1916’, will transport you back to some of the events surrounding the Easter Rising. It’s fascinating to listen to so make sure to have a listen for yourself!
